There is so much to do and explore around Brandon Ford - below are a few of our favourite things to do in our spare time, please don't hesitate to ask us for recommendations and suggestions. If you are here for a week, or just a few days, there is something to suit everyone.

Exploring by Bicycle

Brandon Ford is situated right on two very popular cycle routes in Northumberland; the Sandstone Way and the Penine Cycle Way.

The Sandstone Way is a 120 mile mountain biking route, between Berwick upon Tweed and Hexham, its varying terrain suits mountain bikers, with part of the route, going directly through Brandon Farm. For more information, please visit www.sandstoneway.co.uk

The Penine Cycleway (Route 68), runs from the Pennines in Derbyshire, to Berwick upon Tweed, and runs straight past Brandon Ford Caravan Site, over the Ford itself. This route can be ridden on a road bike. For more information please visit https://cycle.travel/map/journey/77

Northumberland Dark Sky Park

We are right on the edge of the Northumberland National Park, which in 2013, became a protected Dark Sky Park - perfect for gazing at the stars after a long day exploring Northumberland.

Walking and Hiking

Brandon Ford is located at the foot of the Cheviot Hills, with easy access to Cheviot itself, and its smaller sister Hedgehope. We are spoilt for choice in the Breamish Valley with walks and public footpaths, there is something for everyone; whether you fancy tackling Cheviot itself, or perhaps just a gently meander around the Nature Reserve accross the Ford at Branton.

Coast and Castles

Northumberland is famous for its outstanding coastline and historical castles, and at Brandon Ford - you are less than 30 minutes from the glorious coastline of Alnmouth and Warkworth, and even closer to Alnwick Castle, the home of The Duke and Duchess of Northumberland. There are so many beaches and castles to choose from, it is hard to pick one to visit - please feel free to ask us for more information and recommendations.
